Editing local host file on an ESXi host.

Run an SSH session to your ESX host using SSH as the user root 

Type vi /etc/hosts and press Enter.

Press i (insert) to start editing and insert your local host entry.

To quit and save changes press Esc, :, w, q, then press Enter.
